Prom Night (2008)

"Prom Night" is an apparent re-make of the 1980s classic slasher film. But maybe only in it's title. I've not seen the original, but I can only guess it's better than this version (the plots are very different). Here, a high schooler (Brittany Snow) is stalked by the crazed teacher (Johnathan Schaech) who killed her family years before and has escaped from an asylum on -- you guessed it, her prom night. At 88 minutes, it's far too long and far silly to induce even the slightest hint of fear. The original had freakin' Jamie Lee Curtis! This has ... no one interesting. Oh, and no blood. D
